The EU referendum result was an instruction to change the way our country works, and the people for whom it works, forever. It was a call to make Britain a country that works for everyone, not just the privileged few.
That’s why the Prime Minister has set out The Conservative Party's Plan for Britain.
It is a plan a Global Britain that is outward looking. We will forge a new, equal partnership with the European Union that gives control of our borders and laws – while trading beyond Europe, shaping decision across the globe and working to make the world a safer place.
It is a plan for a stronger economy where everyone plays by the same rules. We will help people with everyday costs and bills by acting to ensure consumer markets work as they should, crack down on individuals and businesses who abuse the system, deliver a modern industrial strategy that spreads jobs and prosperity across the country – while continuing to bring the deficit down with a balanced approach so we live within our means.
It is a plan for a fairer society where success is based on merit, not privilege. We will provide a good school place for every child, deliver more affordable homes and put record investment into the NHS. And we will make sure we have a welfare system that rewards work as well as tackling historic injustices like racial and gender discrimination.
And it is a plan for a united nation that our children and grandchildren are proud to call home. We will strengthen and protect the precious union of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland – while acting for the benefit for all the cities, towns, villages and communities across the country.
The Conservative Plan for Britain will deliver a country that is stronger, fairer, more united and more outward looking than ever before. It’s a plan to get the right deal for Britain abroad and a better deal for ordinary working people at home.
