Today, the Immigration Minister Robert Goodwill published a Written Ministerial Statement announcing that due to administrative errors, and according to legislation provided for in Section 67 of the Immigration Act, the Government will increase the specified number of unaccompanied refugee children to be transferred to the UK as part of the Dubs Scheme from 350 to 480 children.
The Home Secretary has written to her counterparts in France, Greece and Italy and the UK continues to work with EU Member States as well as the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and NGO partners to identify and transfer children to the UK as quickly as possible.
