Shane Manning has been announced as the Conservative Party's candidate for Cambridge in the snap July General Election.

Shane works for a large bank in London in a senior leadership role where he focuses on digital security, artificial intelligence and machine learning. He has over 12 years of experience in the private sector covering law, finance, sales and technology.

As a former local Councillor, Shane has four years’ experience in local government and has been an active campaigner across Cambridge. Shane sits on the Leadership Council of The Patchwork Foundation, whose aim is to support young people from underrepresented communities to get involved in civic life and previously volunteered with BlindAid UK.

Shane has expressed his delight at being selected as the Parliamentary Candidate for Cambridge. Cambridge is incredibly close to his and his wife’s heart, with their first son being born at Addenbrookes Hospital at the end of last year.

Shane says "I’m honoured to be standing as a candidate for a city I love. I’m determined to give a voice to those who feel ignored by the Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP) and Labour’s complacent leadership in our city that is out of touch with working people. Over the last 8 months I’ve spoken to hundreds of residents across the city who tell me Labour is taking their community in the wrong direction.

I’m standing to offer Cambridge residents a fresh start that builds the positive future this dynamic, global city deserves. The Conservatives are the only Party that have a clear plan to take bold action to strengthen the economy, create jobs and deliver the security and confidence British businesses and working people need to thrive."
